Carve your sculpture in the Carrara Marble QuarriesArt & Culture
Walk like Michelangelo in the spectacular Carrara marble quarries and pick the right piece of stone to carve your very own work of art, with the instructions of a local master sculptor.
In A Nutshell
In the Carrara marble quarries, Michelangelo walked for hours in search of the right marble piece suited for his next work of art. He used to believe that the subjects to depict, with their personality and their spirit, due to celebrate the powerful city of Florence, was waiting for him right here, in the nature of the spectacular mountains overhanging the city of Carrara and the long northern Tuscany seashore.
Meet Fabiola in the square of Cava and reach the sculpture workshop with a 4x4 off-road car. Walk around the spectacular white marble quarry with your guide to pick the piece of stone better suited for the sculpture you want to make. With manual and pneumatic tools sculpt the marble under the careful support of the master sculptor Bonvini.
Once finished, take your work of art home with you!
During the experience, you will be served with refreshing drinks.
Take a break from your work with a drink. After the experience, enjoy the delicious Colonnata lard along with a glass of local wine!
If you wish, Giulia, Letizia, and Teresa welcome you to the DoinItaly Welcome Point to give you all the information needed for the experience and Fabiola will be your guide.
